During the last days of the semester (spring and fall), you can drop your bag off at Skindergade 12, courtyard building (the "firestation"). See details in the booking process.

At the drop-off location, we can help you find the size and weight of your bag and answer any questions you may have about the process. However, it is still your own responsibility to book and pay for the shipment. This can be done on the DIS computers located close to the drop-off location. We will print your shipping documents place them on your bag for you.

Please note, that you have to make a list of the contents of your bag (for customs). If you bring your bag to the drop-off location and want to do the booking there, it might be a good idea to make this list when you pack your bag. It is your own responsibility to write the information on the booking form.
Sending a bag from Denmark to the US will normally take three days. After you have created your booking, you will receive an e-mail with detailed information on your bags transit time.
If you have a printer to print your shipping documents and can prepare your bags, we can normally pick up your bag the same day - if you book in the morning.
If you don't have access to a printer to print your shipping documents or want us to send you an envelope for the shipping documents, we need a few days to post the shipping documents or envelopes to you.
All bags will be shipped with DHL. DHL is part of the world's leading postal and logistics Group, Deutsche Post DHL Group.
You can ship from Denmark to almost anywhere in the world and from USA, Canada and Mexico to Denmark. We are also able to ship from other countries to Denmark - please contact our customer service to get a quote.
No, you pay for the weight and not for the number of bags.
If you want a quick quote on more than one bag, you can type the total weight of the bags on the front page of the site.
If you are a DIS student, the SRA in your housing might have a luggage scale including a tape measure that you can borrow to help you find the weight and size of your bag.
Please remember to return it to the SRA! Otherwise you can find a cheap one here: As for the tape measure, you might find one in Tiger.
Make sure your bag is ready for travel and your shipping label is attached to the bag.

Also, remember that you are not allowed to have loose batteries, aerosol cans and medicine in the bag.
And that you don't have things in the bag that will give problems with the customs.
Your luggage will be transported and treated just like regular check-in luggage on airplanes - therefore you can only ship suitcases, bags, boxes and the like - no plastic bags, plastic boxes, golf clubs, dogs, snakes, rabbits etc.
You are not allowed to pack or ship items on this list:
  • Aerosols or any other pressurized containers
  • Liquids, Pastes and Gels of any type. This includes cosmetics and other similar products.
  • Items containing lithium batteries like computers, mobile phones etc.
  • Lithium batteries
  • Toner Cartridges
  • Animals and Animal products
  • Firearms and firearm parts, ammunition, explosives, weapons (including imitations of same)
  • Dangerous/hazardous goods
  • Flowers and plant products
  • Human remains or ashes
  • Illegal or restricted goods
  • Medical samples
  • Items that require a temperature controlled environment
  • Pornography
  • Prescription drugs and pharmaceutical products
  • Tobacco
  • Foodstuffs, perishable food articles and beverages including, but not limited to: Wine, Beer, Spirits and Champagne or Packages that are wet, leaking or emit an odor of any kind
  • Valuables and high-value items including but not limited to antiques, paintings, jewelry, precious stones and electrical equipment
  • Cash or other forms of tradeable currency
  • Irreplaceable items
If you choose to include any of these items your bag will fail x-ray check and might be returned. Any extra cost will be charged your card.

If you don't pay for our special insurance on your bags your bags will be covered, but limited to its actual cash value and shall not exceed:
a) Transport by air or other non-road mode of transportation: US$25/kg or US$11.34/lb
That means 20lb will be covered for US$227
50lb will be covered for US$567

b) Road transport: US$12/kg or US$5.44/lb

Please note
If the value of your bag is larger than the above values and you want to buy insurance you will need to purchase insurance for the full value of your bag.

If you are sending within EU there are no custom requirements

Sending outside EU

Most countries, including the UK and USA, offer a tax and duty-free allowance for returning residents, travelers and settlers who send unaccompanied baggage containing “Personal Clothing & Personal Effects (sports equipment etc.)” which are for their sole use and which have been owned by them for a minimum of 6 months. Not all countries offer this allowance such as Russia and Norway among others.

Almost all our non-EU shipments will pass through customs without being stopped and as such our service assumes your item will be categorized for free passage through customs as above. This means our prices do not include any taxes, local charges, inspection fees or any other charges.

It is your own responsibility to ensure that the content of your bag is all right with the customs regulations of the destination country and consequently whether you will be liable to pay customs duties, taxes or local charges.

You will pay for your shipment when you complete your booking.
You can pay with all major credit cards.
Yes - you just need to have them in a box.
You might be able to get a box at your local bike shop.
Please note that the quote you get on the front page might not be right for a bike (it will be large compared to the weight).
If you start the booking process with the right weight and dimensions on your box you will get the right price.
Sending large boxes can be very expensive - we pay for the space on the plane and in this case not so much for the weight.
If there is nobody at the address when the driver arrives he will move on to the next address. Please contact us to reschedule for the following day.
